GOOP!

goop

I have never been one for celebrity endorsements (though I must confessed in my sleep-adled state I almost bought some celebrity endorsed moisturiser on the shopping channel at the weekend – but let’s forget that confession). But, pricy cosmetics aside, I have found one endorsement that is actually quite good.

A few months ago I signed up for the weekly newsletter over at GOOP, a website by Gwyneth Paltrow that promises to ‘nourish the inner aspect’. I was all set to hate it but it’s one of the few newsletters I get that I always read and often enjoy. Let me know what you think!

birdie-pegsI’m pleased to announce that the wonderful Lakeland are currently having a great summer sale. Packed full of innovative kitchen gadegts, garden supplies and a host of big brand names such as Cole & Mason, Simplehuman, Lock & Lock, Kenwood and Typhoon.

Personally one of my favourite items in this season’s sale has to be these cute birdie pegs which are reduced from £2.95 to 99p.

Cath Kidson Sale

cath-kidson-bed-linen

Summer has landed and with it comes sale season. There may be daily news items about economic meltdown, but everyone still loves a bargain and the good news for lovers of pretty pastel florals and kitch kitchenware is that Cath Kidson are jumping on the sale bandwagon too.

Remember that if the fabric is a little too pricy, check out the bedlinen for some great prints – our favourite is the cute circus elephant pillow case.

SCRF – Station Community Regeneration Fund

gleneagles_railway_station

Before meeting my husband and buying our new home/project I had big dreams of buying somewhere with space for a workshop and shop. There was one serious contender but it fell through and, a few years down the line, such things are no longer an option for me (yet!).

If they were however, I would be most excited by the Station Community Regeneration Fund – a £1million Scotland-wide scheme to make use of disused railway buildings.

The Home Show

georgeclark

Excitement among housewives up and down the country is reaching feverpitch in anticpation of ‘gorgeous George’ hitting screens every week for the next 12 weeks.

Of course we don’t mean the moustachioed weirdie that is George Galloway, but the architect and presenter of The Home Show, George Clark.

Set once again to stretch budgets and get out his white paint gun, The Home Show starts its new run on Channel 4 at 8pm tonight with an apparently monster budget.

George has also just launched his own website where he promises to be very hands on in answering readers questions and providing plenty of advice for those looking into their own remarkable renovations.
